Origami Workshop

Hosted by Kyle Fu

Te Jui “Kyle” Fu is a master origami artist and cultural educator based in Houston, Texas. With over 50 years of experience in the art of paper folding, Fu has earned the nickname “the million-folds origami master.” His creations range from intricate miniature works to life-sized sculptures of dragons, horses, and other symbolic creatures—pushing the boundaries of traditional origami into large-scale visual art.

Born in London to Taiwanese parents and raised in Taiwan and the U.S., Fu’s multicultural journey has deeply influenced his artistic voice. After studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art, he eventually settled in Houston, where he continues to inspire the community through his work.

In 2024, Fu founded Houston’s inaugural International Origami and Arts Festival at PlazAmericas, where he unveiled a six-foot-tall origami dragon to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. The event, supported by the Houston Arts Alliance, featured hands-on workshops, cultural performances, and global artists.

A passionate educator, Fu regularly hosts origami workshops at schools, museums, and community centers, using his craft to promote cross-cultural understanding and creative expression.

Through every fold, Kyle Fu shares a message of patience, beauty, and cultural connection—transforming paper into powerful stories.
